Useing Zoo Med Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate?

i have a bearded dragon and i want to use Zoo Med Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate is this ok to to use and i have a 40 gallon tank i want to use 40 lbs of it is my under tank heater going to penetrate through it if its that thick that you for all of your help

    that stuff if CRAP. just use a moist dirt and sand mix. this pic clearly shows the benefits of using a dirt and sand substrate for burrowing lizards like beardies

    p.s. how much does 40lbs of that excavator stuff cost? i bet alot. i bring this up cause 50lbs of top soil and 50lbs of playsand at home depot comes to $6.00. so not only is it the best choice its also the least expensive substrate choice.

    Thats not the best of substrates for a Beardie. Just use sand. You can use it, but it is more for uromastxys, and leopard geckos.
