..decimation of Native North American tribes. Hundreds of tribes wiped out. Populations of Millions and millions reduced to what you see today- barely any, destruction of their culture and heritage.

It was freaking evil and today the native american people are mostly at a loss, with no sense of direction and identity as a whole. Countless treaties were violated and not kept. Many wars between tribes fuelled by Europeans. Destruction of complete tribes upon arrival- mikmaq, etc.

There is no strong economy in the reservations for the natives to rely upon. Land treaties are violated and government forces natives off their home land. Suicide rates, alcohol and drug addiction, are very high in comparison to people not in reserves. Their way of life is limited. Many attempts at assimilating them into North American culture, through institutions such as schools and churches. Many languages are forgotten.
