Runs Great
91 mercury capri runs terrible in first, once it shifts to second runs great. whats wrong?
I advanced the timing it ran great . then it did it again. timing marks are in the correct place.
Transmission was rebuilt not long ago. I advanced the timing it ran great. then it did it again. the timing is already advanced . If I take off the limiters I can advance the timing again and it will run great again. Timing marks are in the correct position. Wiyh the distributer in the proper place it won’t even start.
does this car seam to run a little better just before it shifts to second? it could be your running to rich and the engine needs rpm to accomodate the fuel.1st gear bands may be going bad but this would be no affect on the engine running condition just power.
