Remodel/construction Bid; Are [MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, LABOR] All Different Things?? (Mainly Materials/Equip]?
Or is Materials and Equipment the same thing…
I am just writing up a bid room for room in a home, along with an outdoors section….
So should I just write:
Living room [Materials, Equipment, Labor] 5 OR should I write:
Living room [Materials, Labor] 5 ?????
I would like to show as much as I can….as far as whats concerned/used…..
So what do you think??????
It occured to me when I was writing up the outdoors section of the bid that maybe I could throw the word equipment in there (for each and every room, including outdoors) because there arent too many materials (usually meaning something you buy at home depot/etc) however there is equipment that I previously owned that will have been used…….get it?? What do you think… Thanks =]
ALSO, anything you could think of that would make it sound ‘bigger’…. IE: Instead of just putting:
Living Room 5……………..I would add the other………..to help visualize the process…. so are there any other keywords that would sound better??? Thanks!!!

Need to break it down further.
Equipment is tools and such, eg Scaffold/Ladder rental
Materials are building materials, paint, wood, etc
Labor is the cost of the time of the people working on the project – painter, electrician etc.
I work in construction; you need to show each category separately. Materials are the things you actually use in the room that stay in the room (lights, drywall, paint). Equipment is what you bring to the job to help facilitate the process (scaffolding, bulldozer, something you have to rent to complete the job). Labor is what you pay your workforce. Tools are not to be charged as you should already own that as a contractor (screwdrivers, drills) but specialized tools can be considered equipment (like special tools you may not have to cut ceramic tile, etc).
As far as making it sound bigger, you could say (about the living room) what work you are including…ie; Patch/repair/prime/paint walls, replace drop ceiling, installation of new light fixtures, addition of 4 new duplex receptacles, prep floor, new VCT installation, wax, etc.etc.
