Is the "Oklahoma Thunder" Used in the NBA To…?

Put rookies on so they won’t get on a better team? this boy from my hometown was drafted by the Bobcats, but then they traded him to the Thunder. Him and the whole team basically is composed of rookies or people with less than 5 years pro. Is this a fair team or no?

Of course, it is fair. The fact is that every single general manager and front office group have the ability to go out and build the best team possible as long as the abide by the salary cap (which is the same for all teams). Granted, some teams don’t spend up to the cap, but that is a decision they make for various reasons.

As far as the Oklahoma City team, they made a conscious decision two years ago when they traded Ray Allen and let Rashard Lewis walk in free agency to re-build this team. They believed that they weren’t going to win a championship with those guys on the roster so they might as well get what they can and move on. Therefore, they decided to build through the draft and go with all young guys. They have a guy in Kevin Durant who was highly touted in college who has potential. Jeff Green is another second year player who was very good at Georgetown and could emerge as strong NBA player. Then, this year they drafted Russell Westbrook out of UCLA who has played reasonably well for a rookie. So, they have some pieces in place. The problem is that all of these guys are very young and inexperienced and need time to grow. It’s going to take a couple years to find out if Seattle/Oklahoma City’s gamble to re-build paid dividends or not.

Who cares. They stole the team from Seattle and I have NO respect for them what so ever.As a matter of fact I have no respect for any team that moves because of GREED.

Oklahoma didn’t steal it. The license was up and Seattle lacked the $$ to renew it. So, …

The Thunder suck. The North Carolina Tarheels Basketball team could beat them

the license was not expired it still has one more year. they did steal the team from seattle. but its ok because i heard that seattle will get a team soon. i also heard that they might move one of the other teams in the nba that wants to sell their team. good luck

I am happy for Oklahoma City and am happy that the young players are all put on one team where each of them can have a big role. I think the Oklahoma City Thunder are good for the NBA.
