Could I Legally Demand to See What My Neighborhood Dues Are Going Towards?

My neighborhood requires a due of quarterly. There is a playground and a clubhouse, but the clubhouse has been under construction for 2 years and no one has been able to use it. The only upkeep I’ve seen since I’ve moved in is a couple of new pieces of playground equipment and they mow the playground. I can’t find contact information for the people who run the board anywhere! How can I find out how my money is being used?

Our HOA publishes a financial report every year that shows where every dime went and to whom.

IN addition, the books are open to inspection upon a reasonable request and time frame.

I’d start with the treasurer. Then a lawyer

There has to be a board, elections and an AGM. Ask your neighbours.

You should be getting that info anyway.

Yes there should be at least an Annual Financial report given to every member.
This report is to include income and expenses. In writing sent certified mail request this report.
Failure to comply should be reported to your county District Attorney
