True…but scrapers become uneconomical when the haul distance rises above about a thousand metres. I guess, if your paying for the loads, it makes a difference.
Best combo I’ve used is a Cat D6C towing an Onion Box Scraper. Both pretty indestuctible, but it was more art than science to operate well.
@Strogenforcer
on bigger jobs they run “push pull”
two operators running two twin engine 657 cat scrapers lock up and fill both cans at the same time almost like a train then unlock and blow
pity dumptrucks are taking over the uk.when it could be done better and quicker by scrapers in some cases.
This looks like D10N or D10R pushing a 631C scraper
I agree i love scrapers a lot more than trucks. Plus scrapers dump the material in nice lifts.
Cat D10N & 631C
Mind those tyres with that wide blade!

The CCU could be a bitch though.
Fuck the Scraper.
The D10 is far more intresting and enjoyable to watch.
The 4 horseman of the apocalypse wouldnt stop that.
D11 > D10 pr even the D12 which were made only as a test model and had its own ripper ripped on the first try, back in 1988.
I haven’t seen a scraper being used in years. I see farm tractors with tow scrapers now.
what century is this old junk in?
@chechnya It’s not a bad idea but there’s a problem with that, ” Time “
