Bobcat Fever, Reaction to Flea and Tick Medicine, or Common Cat Cold?

My cat has the following symptoms

*Slow wheezy breathing (he sounds congested)*
*Fever*
*Lethargic*
*Not eating/Drinking*
*Has not urinated or passes any stool for the past 12 hrs (that I know of)*

He is a 3 year "barn cat" so he is prone to fleas and ticks, on Tuesday I put on some medicine for the fleas/ticks on the back of his neck, and since then he has been acting sick. He doesn’t seem to be in any pain, I am keeping him hydrated by using a dropper full of water. I called my vet and he said to use Ammoxacillin every 8 hrs.

The vet also said he could have bobcat fever, But I have never heard of that before.

Any thought??
